Progression milestones
Students of the Doctoral Program choose a Faculty member as their supervisors. Students may, in exceptional cases, consider an external mentor as well. In selecting /tenuring one students should freely turn to the administration of the Program for help. Students complete their required and elective courses in the first four semesters of the three years (appr. 4 courses per semester). Consultation with their supervisors should be continuous during this period, in the last two semesters however it remains their sole requirement to meet. During the six semesters students take an active part in the academic life of the Program and earn extra credits for organizing conferences, academic editing, writing tenders etc. A supervisor may specify extra requirements concerning report on and progression with the thesis, students are required however to produce a written statement on their progression at the end of every year of their studies and present/defend their findings on the yearly workshops of the Program to which members of the academia and faculty of our partners are also invited.
